We solve the problems worth solving — designing complete automation systems for manufacturers who need a technical partner, not just a contractor.
Maverik is a boutique automation engineering firm based in Zadar, Croatia. We design and deliver complete industrial automation systems for manufacturers in food & beverage and beyond — wherever the problem is complex enough to be interesting.
We're small by choice. That means every project gets the senior engineer, every time. No handoffs, no junior teams running your commissioning. Just focused, architecture-first engineering from people who've done this at the highest level.
Our clients include Heineken, Carlsberg Group, ABInBev, Paulaner, and Boogie Bakery — across 15+ countries on three continents. We've automated breweries, malting plants, soft drink lines, bakery equipment, timber handling, and next-gen food technology.
From early architecture to long-term support — we cover the full lifecycle of industrial automation projects.
System design, vendor coordination, project planning, and automation architecture. We help you make the right decisions before a single line of code is written.
Full Siemens portfolio — S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300, S7-400. Development in TIA Portal and SIMATIC Manager. Complex, structured, maintainable code.
WinCC Comfort, WinCC Unified, WinCC Advanced/Professional, and Brewmaxx. Intuitive interfaces that give operators real control and visibility.
I/O testing, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and on-site startup. We stay until the system runs the way it's supposed to — no handoff and goodbye.
PLC → SQL → custom reports and dashboards. We connect your automation to your data layer so decisions are informed and processes are traceable.
Secure remote access via VPN, structured industrial networking, and long-term technical support. We're reachable when it matters most.
Industry-proven tools, applied with depth and precision.
A decade of work across breweries, malting plants, production lines, and emerging food technology — on three continents.
Complete automation and visualisation for Raw Material Handling and the entire Brewhouse at Heineken's Assemini plant. Migrated legacy FactoryLink areas, unified everything onto Brewmaxx v9.9. New PLC/SCADA logic, standardised phases/recipes, interlocks, alarms, HMI graphics, and custom auto-generated Excel batch reports.
End-to-end automation for a novel continuous malting concept on Brewmaxx. Architecture through commissioning: intake & silos, 5-tank steeping, continuous germination tower, kiln belt, e-malt storage, truck loading. 1 t/h capacity (24 t/day).
Full automation stack for next-gen sourdough production. Intelligent starter fermentor with closed-loop pH control, adaptive temperature/agitation, takt-time sync. Intelligent dough mixer with energy/torque endpoint detection and run-to-run learning.
Integrated a Pulsed Electric Field unit into the steeping train, turning lab-scale electroporation into a production feature — synced with the 5-tank steeping cycle. Controls, alarms, KPIs for moisture curve, water use/ton, and cycle time.
Series of plant extensions: new malt conveying & truck loading lines, bagging line, 4 new silos, enzyme dosing, kiln 4 & energy island, raw material handling migration to Brewmaxx v9.8 with MES integration.
Complete automation and software design for a syrup kitchen used in soft drink production — PLC architecture, Brewmaxx SCADA, recipe management, FAT, commissioning, and operator training. Follow-up engagement: IBC concentration dosing station upgrades for increased production capacity.
PLC & HMI for a multi-segment timber handling line (conveying, sorting, flipping, stacking). S7-1500, TIA Portal. Full design, programming, and commissioning with emphasis on modularity, safety, and operator-friendly HMI.
Revamping of the beer filtration line at Heineken Kingston. PLC programming, SCADA visualisation, commissioning.
Two engagements at SABMiller Sagamu: system architecture, automation guidelines blueprint, FAT, interface with 5 utilities + 48 packaging PLCs, energy management. Second phase: project management, 15 additional PLCs, remote commissioning.
Detailed references available upon request. Additional projects across Italy, Serbia, Romania, Vietnam, Burundi, Congo, Germany, and Croatia.
We're not the right fit for every project — and that's intentional. We work best on complex, custom challenges where technical depth and architecture actually matter.
"Build a company recognised for technical depth — while developing proprietary products, software platforms, and AI-assisted engineering workflows."
